Default Need help picking my next truck.

Gonna buy a truck soon and I don't know what kind I should get. Looking for a midsized truck, mainly a Ranger, Frontier, Dakota, and maybe a Tacoma. Gonna be a fairly new truck no more than 35k miles max. Budget is max of 20k. Don't want anything high-tech, but I have to have something known for reliability. That's why I've picked those trucks. So give me some experiences and input. What you guys think?

rangers will be hard to find/ buy with such low mileage now that there not making them anymore

Nissan just recalled over 13,000 trucks from 2012-2014 models

Dakotas aren't in production anymore either

Toyota Tacoma gets my vote

Stuff I like to hear. I'll look at that recall. I've got a few rangers around me that are within my wants/needs, Also some Dakotas.

Tacoma for sure! Better resale value better reliability! Why lose 20 percent of the trucks value as soon as you drive it off the lot?

rangers are reliable little trucks when well maintained... do the usual check over yourself to verify its in excellent condition and wont be a sink hole for money.

and there the only truck that hasn't had a slumping market for that size truck... ranger supposedly stopped so it could be replaced with a slightly smaller version of the f150. Dakotas stopped do to lack of sale

Value isn't what im concerned about, Just reliability. Probably not gonna resale whatever I buy. I do like the Tacoma.

value is reliability... it figures in cost to insure/repair/maintain/fuel/etc over the life of the vehicle

Tacoma from me as well, we have had rangers at work and every single one has multiple issues, the Tacomas have never had an issue. There also a lot more comfortable

the rangers are decent trucks if you are the original owner and keep up on maintenance the dakotas are garbage honestly, i have a friend with an 04 with only 60k miles and lightly driven and still has a lot of engine noise and its a heavy ass truck. if you have a limit of 20k i would go for a newer body style tacoma.

if you dont mind me asking why not a fullsize? these days the midsize trucks get like 1mpg better and the power/weight ratio is crap. my dad just bought a 07 f150 with 50k miles for $16k out the door.
