I have a electric fan conversion on my 99 cherokee (Fan Kit
) that was recommended by other xj owners on xj forums. My question is concerning the fuse which doesn't blow but the fuse holder and my fuse block have melted. I contacted the manufacture who said more than likely the ground was not good. First time it occurred the inline atc fuse holder on module melted so I replaced it with a crimp on style then the fuse block I have the power lead connected to melted. That's when I emailed the manufacture who recommended I buy a new module and fuse block. I bought a fuse block with 8 gauge power this time instead of 12 and the module as well. I regrounded the fans to the battery instead of the body this time and things were going smooth for about 6 months till yesterday when the idiot light came on and the temp soared to 260. I inspected everything and the fans had stopped working again. I checked fuses and the inline holder and fuse were good checked the fuse block fuse good but terminals fried and block's plastic melted again. I jerry rigged it to get back to the homestead but at a loss to WTF is causing this
the fuse inline and at block are booth 30 amp atc. I have yet to try to direct connect to battery. From what I have found trying to research the module is hayden.
Sorry for the lack of paragraphs and incomplete info gaps I was a math major
Thank's again to everyone here, hope there's someone who knows more than I do about this crap it's the first electronic fan conversion I have done
