i bet a bank of super caps would hold up better, and never need to be replaced.
not to mention 12v motors of that caliber are few and far inbetween and much more expensive.
heck for that 1 batt you could put in 3 banks of super caps, or 1 high voltage bank.
i cant remember but i think someone said they can do a 30sec run with a 10kw amp on 6 banks before getting to battery power. but i dont remember where it was.
are you looking into a power controller for the motor or just basically on/off
even a 30hp motor should be rated at around 40-50ftlbs and with enough power could be looking more around 400-500ftlbs instantaneous.
