Default Car performance guys: Help

Hey guys I recently bought a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS in automatic. It has a cold air intake on it (not a cheap one) and a Greddy TiC exhaust.

I want to know what I can do to increase performance on this car because as is, it isn't very impressive especially since it's automatic. I see people on youtube with these cars and they seem to be doing well with them but mine isn't fast at all.

Thanks guys.

Well all you have is an intake and exhaust. Dont expect to get a whole lot even out of those two upgrades. Those two upgrades combined probably gave you 5 extra whp, if that. Sounds like what you need is a turbo kit.

Your automatic is probably holding a lot of the feel back. The standard always seems faster. If it's naturally aspirated, those motors don't make anything for power stock. You can do a turbo kit, but your asking to spend more money down the road on mods to support that power. Hell you may even blow the motor if not tuned correctly. If you don't know much about performance, and I'm not claiming I do, then I would advise some research and facts first. Get a game plan and then tackle it. Don't just trust everything and what everyone tells you. Talk to the guys who have abused and rebuilt their entire cars finding the weakest links.

similar to car audio, what are you wanting out of your upgrades? a little more pep? 1/4 mile times? daily commuter?

I'd start looking for a complete exhaust set up, if it's a turbo than a larger down pipe if N/A than a good 4-1 or 4-2-1 header. if it's a N/A motor and you're expecting Evo type performance than you need to reconsider what you're doing with that car in the first place.

I would scratch the whole upgrading thing and start off with a new platform. Even if you turbo it and do all the necessary upgrades, youre probably going to end up spending as much as you would if you just sold it and bought an EVO.

First you're going to need to buy a whole new stereo. Stock stuff isn't gonna fly on this forum.

As for performance, more subwoofers = more faster. Do that.

You might wanna post in the correct section. It will get you more replies.

You could get a Evo motor and stick it in
But then why not get a Evo

Unless you turbo it that is all she's got
You won't see any amazing gains from a intake and tune
