I have a 2004 gmc envoy xl. I notice that my driver side headlight was out so went to replace it and it fried my pigtail. So I replaced the connector and put new bulb in and it didn't even light up. Checked fuses and they were fine. I took the whole headlight out and unplugged it from the other connector that controls the low and high beam and checked that as well power and juice on one side and power but no juice on other side.
Something I would check for is corrosion from the fried pigtail back towards the factory wiring. I've seen a handful of headlight wires that corroded severely causing the resistance that is typically to blame for the pigtail roasting in the first place. Sometimes you get lucky and it only goes back a few inches but sometimes it is considerably worse. Good luck, OP.
