Default my 97 tahoe exhaust

https://youtu.be/jxMDwy4aTJE

This is my first youtube video so be kind lol. Its also shot with my webcam from laptop. Thought I would do a video so I can have a before and after video of my exhaust. I plan on putting 2 Borla xr-1 oval case mufflers on, got a super deal on them and might as well see what they will sound like because I wont ever have $350 to blow on nice mufflers lol.

Right now it is a $40 thrush welded dual in dual out muffler with 2.5 inch pipe from cats back, better than my glasspacks, it has a nice deep tone to it, just a little quieter than I expected but sounds good to me, and held up through 1 Illinois winter so far, so let me know how you think it sounds, I think it sounds kind of like a newer stock muscle car, lol. Also there is no drone on the highway, gets quieter the higher the rpms, to me atleast

How does your Tahoe get recorded like it was in front of the mirror resembling the backwards words?!

I got that same style on min also....I got Flowmaster on mine. Previous owner had it installed before I bought it. My tips are a bit bigger.

Here's a pic

lol there is a setting on my web cam to switch the view around, my pics come out backwards if I don't switch it to. and my buddy just put a single in dual out flowmaster 40 on his truck it sounds a little more aggressive, than the thrush to me anyways, a lot of people say they are the same muffler but I believe the internals are slightly different I like the way his flowmaster sounds. Hopefully my paycheck is decent enough I can buy some pipe reducers and put the borlas on and see how they sound

U ever get the exhaust done? I to have a 97 Tahoe and was looking for ideas on exhaust. For the time being I just cut the stock muffler off and it sounds ok, but looking for better sound.

no I haven't I still got the thrush welded on there from the video. I had to replace my torsion bar mount this weekend. I have the borla mufflers though there just sitting in the back of my truck until I have some money to get them put on, the truck came with glasspacks when I bought it didn't sound too bad just to high pitched sounding for me and raspy, Im going to try to get them put on this coming Friday when I get paid, but I have insurance due also so just depends on how much I have left lol

My s10 blazer had Magnaflow. Had a nice rumble to it for awhile.

But....not for long and I think it was simply because the engine itself was so old and tired it would affect the muffler. Prob all kinds of crap inside the whole thing.
