I am looking at getting a 1997 Lincoln Continental. This is a FWD v8 car. After getting my 93 continental, v6 3.8 FWD with a blown motor, replacing it with another one, i said i am never buying another FWD car agian that i think ill be doing much work to. But i kinda like that 97, and its supposed to run and drive, might have some air suspension problems, i can maybe convert it to coil springs or whatever.
Anyways, not really concnered about that right now. I am just wondering if there are any common problems with these cars? I know the 93 and other continentals had the shitty 3.8 that blew headgaskets all the time, until replaced with better ones. Are there any known engine problems, tranny problems or anything major other than the air suspension? Its supposed to run and drive, has about 130,000 on the car. Im sure there are some problems with it, but its cheap and i dont mind a little fixer upper, everything i get has problems that i fix, like my current car the 93 continental.
I tried to search google for any common problems but couldnt really find anything on it. So any input would be great if you know anything about them. I thought the car was gonna be RWD, saw it was FWD and it kinda turned me away from it, but am still considering it due to price.
