Default Which would you pick?

A have somewhat of an offer on the table for the white one. 1800 cash at the time we talked on the phone then as soon as he hung up he increased the price 500 more. Just talked to him on the phne 15 mins ago after thinking about it.....and that's when he called me just mins ago.

1998 S-10 4.3L

This one...

1989 S-10 4.3L V6 Still waiting for email/phone call/text something in return!!

The '89 is much easier to work on. The 1998 is much nicer and sent me pics of interior. Pretty dam clean inside.

Having owned both gens I myself would pick a 2nd gen, just alot more cool bolt on stuff available, the chassis/suspension are exactly the same on ALL S10s, well given they are both 2wd (or 4wd)

Both 2wd....not 4. No need for another 4x4. The tires would be diff on either of them and would sit a little higher.

Both fit my needs/wants:

Love the looks of the older s10's....square box type. It's a plus

4.3 V6 Automatic

Extended cab

2WD

The older one is easier/roomier to work in/around

The 1998 is much nicer...plush interior. And speakers in the doors is a plus since I will replace them.

The older truck I would have to mock up something for some front stage comps.

Be prepared for rust rot on the lower body of either. Seems Chevy never figured out how to prevent that. I had a 98 (I think) that was in great condition, until the rot broke through. But they are nice trucks.

I prefer the looks of the box style. I guess it comes down to condition and how much work you're willing to put in though.

Neither. Just buy alittle trailer to pull with your Tahoe. If u buy the s10 u will have oil changes and matience when things go wrong, and they will on them old trucks... Or u could buy alittle trailer off craigslist for $300-400 and it would do the same job the truck could do but cheaper.

Or this truck for $1900

Here's a trailer for $550obo

Whatever you do, avoid the 2.8L v6. One of the weakest and biggest pieces of crap engines Chevy has produced. I had an 84' extended cab 20+ yrs ago and it had that engine. The day I got rid of it was a good one.
