It's either a wiring harness issue, which is a cheap fix, or your battery is dying.

Lots of Chevy vehicles go through this issue. The car thinks you are trying to steal it

I dont think its the battery because i have 2 650cca lead acids hooked up reading 12.5 resting. and I never have electrical issues.

it's been raining hard. any spots rain can get in?

I did notice today that the company's landscaping guy was blowing into front fenders of cars...didn't see him hit mine but I wasnt out there the whole time

I didn't think this happened to any other car but the Tahoe's and Burbans my 99 loves to do this. I usually have to leave the truck on and wait for the security light to go off before it will allow me to start. There are many fixes online for the Tahoe's and Suburbans but not sure if the HHR will fall into that category.

OK the anti theft thing is gone. but now it still wont start. also no power to head unit which i think i have running off of the cig lighter...or at least the rremote turn on for it.

also no power windows or locks working.

it's like a fuse popped for a bunch of stuff...

Check fusing. Sounds like something needs to be reactivated. hence why no power. (Dam newer vehicles)

Your HHR mad at ya for gettin' high with ya.

that's actually exactly what i was thinking. it sounds like the anti theft disabled stuff that is essential to theft - lights, windows, locks, starter.

wish I knew why the hell it went off.
