Default GPS Unit Choice/Recommendations

I'm thinking about finally getting one for my vehicle and I want to know who has one and used it for some backwoods driving and how did it work?

In other words do they show the smaller roads, trails and small lakes/ponds like some of those handheld units for hiking do?

I have both a pioneer z1 and a f90bt. The f90bt is updated more as far as roads because its a newer unit but the z1 is a lot more detailed as far as maps. Im going to hack my f90bt and ill be running a modified version + IGO which is a better nav software.

No real budget....

However I am generally a tight ass when it comes to letting go of cash unless it's something that is perfect for me at the time.

I will not use the gps a ton so price accordingly
