Default Any Ford people with any engine knowledge?

i have a 351 windsor that i was going to sell but it doesnt seem worth it to let go of it. engine is brand new.
im looking to start piecing it together real soon. this is going to be a slow build. what i plan on getting 1st is edelbrock 202 cylinder heads. is there anything else out there around $600 that are better than these. also any good places that you reccomend to buy from?
would it be better to bore(sp?) it out to a 427? has crossed my mind but i honestly dont see it too much better. any imput and reccomendations on which parts to go with will be gladly taken. oh and i plan on putting a 6 speed tranny too.

make sure you get the right firing order when you get to that point. they changed the 302 a few years before... i assume they probably changed the 351 as well. take a look at JEGS they have a lot of parts numbers. then go online type in the part number and all that jazz

Afr 185 heads work great on big cube Windsors for street/strip.

You couldn't bore it to 427 cubes without having the cylinders bored completely out of the block and sleeving it. To hit 427 cubes easily you'd have to bore and stroke the block which means you'll need a crank, possibly rods and definitely pistons/rings. Myself I'd just get good aluminum heads and a cam with a 3000RPM to 6500RPM powerband and call it good.

If you go hydraulic lifter cam, spend the extra bucks and get Rhodes variable lifters. You'll gain back some low end torque lost by the bigger cam and have a much smoother idle.

408 is a good street Windsor, Eagle sells a drop in crank/rod/piston kit for this displacement.
