could be the starter. could be fuel injector. could be the batt was sitting at low voltage.

Low fuel pressure from either a partially clogged filter or a weak fuel pump and/or clogged injectors. From what I gather it is taking 2 key cycles to hot charge the fuel system with fuel..

Default my suggestions and liklihood

[25% likelihood]tune up
tune up on a 99 granprix = spark plugs and wires, oil change = $100 in parts and materials.
I list this first because it is the cheapest fix and can be done by most people.

[50% likelihood]fuel pump = $250ish plus install.
If it is your fuelpump, the reason you have to turn the engine over more than once is because you are having to prime the system because it can supply enough fuel for starting. This is common. If this is the case, your car will not run well passed about 3500rpm because the fuel pump isn't supporting it.

[25% likelihood] something else

alright thanks. got the tune up done. fuel filter, plugs wire, and air filter. anyways now if i keep the first turn held long enough it will start, im going to run some fuel injection cleaner in it and see what happens. once its started it runs completely fine. hopeing it not the fuel pump. dont feel like spending that much. lol.

Im going to guess either a weak fuel pump (or bad seal in it letting the pressure leak back into the tank) or leaky injectors which drip fuel into combustion chamber all night and then when you try to fire it up it is pretty much flooded and takes a lil but to fire up. Try this, next time turn your key on but dont start, keep your radio and AC off, you should hear the fuel pump prime, do it again, do it like 3 or 4 times, then turn it the whole way forward to fire it. What this does is build pressure back up if its bleeding off
