Default Window Tinting

It's going to cost me about $200 to tint my back windows of my 97 Jeep Cherokee. I think that is pretty ridiculous pricing. They use llumar tint though which I have been told is the best. But then again I can get precut tint to fit my Jeep for $25 on eBay and install it myself. Is it really worth the $200? I just want everyone's opinion.

I'm in west-central Illinois. Anyone recommend any places? Is that a good price? Should I just do it myself?

I had my whole car done for under $200. My brother had his back window done for $80. I thought those prices were steep, so I guess $200 for 1 window is a bit high for me lol. Came with 3yr warranty though, so guess that is good.

the cheap tint is very hard to work with, i would pay for to have someone do it. especially if there is a warranty

Well my jeep is a 4 door so it's for the 2 back windows and the trunk window and I believe it is a lifetime warranty.

DIY is not that hard if the rear glass is fairly flat and you get the pre-cut stuff. Quality of the pre-cut i don't know, but there are tons of how to's out there, but just clean the crap out of the glass, wet the glass, peel the protective film off and wet the tint, place on glass and smooth out the bubbles/air pockets. It is time consuming and need to be in a mostly dust free area so you won't end up with specks under the film. Rear glass with alot of curve is difficult to get it smooth, but flat glass is not all that hard, just time consuming.

yea, get quotes from at least 3 different places before you pay that much.

All did was google "Indiana car window tint" and it showed me a bunch of places in central indiana that would do it. I emailed quotes, read online reviews, and settled on one place. It was 190 for all around on a sedan accord

I did two places, one was $175+tax and one was $201+tax. I will try to get more quotes from others, I just thought it would only be like $100 lol.

I already have like 30% on the back windows but you can see through them WAY too easily.
