At idle yes.

Rule of thumb is 10psi for every 1000rpm

Also on the 4.3 GM the oil pressure sending unit located behind and below the distributor is notorious for failing.

I have had many 4.3's, it is normal for them to have low oil pressure on idle when warm. Dont worry about it

What weight oil are you running? If its 5w30 or so, and its hot out, I wouldnt be suprised...

If the truck has higher miles (100,000+) I wouldnt run less than 10w40 in it and would probably run 20w50 in the summer....
