Default Anyone know about yukon/tahoe?

Im considering purchasing a yukon shortly. Im looking at a 98 GMC yukon but im wondering how long do these things really last? The truck has 203,000 miles on it already. Like i know my town car with 216,000 should prolly last til atleast 3k, my dads chevy work truck has over 350,000+ on original motor and tranny. Anyone know how long these trucks tend to last before something major goes out on them? I dont want to buy it and then have the motor or tranny go out right away. They are asking 2500 for it. It has 4x4 and all that, they said everything works on it.

This is from the seller..

Watch the trans. My 700r4 leaked fluid and one day let go while driving. Did a flush and lost 3rd completely.

Really all depends on how well its taken care of. My 03 I bought with 50-60k and I now have almost 160k on it and it still runs geat. Only things I've ever had to replace have been tires and the alternator (was my choice, the original one wasn't enough for me ). I've never even had to replace a sensor before. (Mine's a Silverado, pretty much the same thing different body haha)

depends on the driver. my 96 hoe original motor had over 400,000 miles on it. it woulda lasted longer than that if i had not been racing and checking the damn oil like i should have.

Hmm.. Well i think i should take it for a test drive and see how it drives and everything. I might possibly be able to get it for 2k. Im just scared to spend 2 grand on sometihng with that many miles. I got my town car for cheap and it had 213k when i bought it but i had known those things last quite a while. I think ill take a look at it closer and see if it looks alright. Make sure its not leaking tranny fluid or oil or any of that stuff.

I have seen Chevy trucks go 400,000 when properly maintained.

Look for transmission leaks, nasty looking coolant, driveline noise and smoke at start-up or otherwise. It will probably need a full rear brake job and upper and lower ball joints.
