I just got a 97 yukon and need to replace the motor. Im trying to find the same motor that it came with, 350 vortec. I found one out of a 98 silverado that is a 350 vortec but does anyone know if everything will plug in and work correctly? There are alot of wires and plugs for this truck and when i put the motor in i want everything to work as it should.
I have a 96 'Burban. It has a 350 5.7l Vortec. No doubt that the motor from the Silverado will fit. Most of GMC/Chevy vehicles you can do a hot swap. Do a lil research on the vehicle you're getting the motor from and make sure it will work 100%. Nothing wrong w/double checking.
I know that basically any small block chevy motor will bolt into the truck, its all the wiring and all that crap i am worried about. I know very little about the vortec motors, i know a little more about the older ones but still not alot. Like i said, my main concern is that all the plugs/wiring goes right onto the motor and everything works correctly. I tried searching around but did not really find much. Ill try looking some more.
