check your brake fluid if low check your brake lines for any leaks and also the brakes if you dont find a leak and none of those places just fill your master cylinder and see what happens thats all i got before i start getting more deep into it

Probably an ABS sensor.Sometimes a sign that a wheel bearing is going out in the front.A common GM truck issue.

Lots of things can make it come on.

Bad ABS computer, bad sensor in the in the metering block doohickey that I can't think of the name of, leak in a brake line, bad ABS sensor, bad tone ring, having one set of tires turn and not the other (having your drive axle jacked up and having the tires spinning by using the engine), bad brake switch etc...

Does the light stay on even after cycling the key?

Is your truck 4x4?

The light is really nothing that big to worry about. It just means your ABS isn't working right and has disabled itself. You still have standard brakes that will lock up in rain/snow, so you have to be more careful and remember to pump your brakes instead of holding them down when you get in a skid.
