Default wenn_du_weinst bumper thread

well if you guys have seen the front end of an s10 that is offroaded you will notice that 75% have no lower valiance because they are horrible plastic crap so here are my choices
1 take it off every time I wheel it = the gayness
2 build a bad ass metal bumper = heavy

here is exactly what I would make
new toy - S-10 Forum

so the question is could I make this out of 8th" if it's braced corectly or would I need 1/4"
all it we really need to do is protect the front end when I run it into things wheelin ie rocks, dig it into hills and of course mud

I will also probably make skid plates at the same time
my dad was a professional welder for 12 years (woot for me free welder)
also may have to weld to the frame for new bumper mounts that don't compress
any opinions?

I would but it's square and it would dig in
oh it's hopefully getting
2" body lift
zr2 t-bars cranked 1.5"
rear 2"or 1.5" shackles
new rims with less back spacing and 29x11.5 super swampers
oh and matching rear bumper and rock sliders
and later a 5.3 when I sell the f-150

so your main goal is to have a stronger bumper that has angles for climbing and decending.

you can use 1/8" since it doesnt sound like you are going to be smashing into anything to hard.
if you can get your hands on about 6ft of C channel you could save a ton of time
if you were closer and i still had a welder id throw one together for you that you could run through a brick wall with
