Default help with rear deck removal on a 94 s500 benz.

i am trying to remove the rear deck on 94 s500 2 door coupe.

the rear headrest are motorized. i cant get to the motor for the headrest as its behind a metal case welded behind the back seat.

the support bars for the headrest go thru cut out holes in the rear deck. so the deck cant be removed untill the headrest are out..

i tried to find a way with out breaking anything but i cant.

i want to swap out the 4 rear stock 6.5'' bose speakers for 4 new 6.5'' beyma power w6 mid drivers..

any benz owners with advice ? thanks

There are black levers at the base of each head rest behind the rear deck. Pull the seat and look in the holes where the bars fold into the deck. Were they bend in a "U" at the base is were the lever is. Push it away from you and push the head rest straight back. It should come out. But they are a *****! I did a 4 door with the 3 headrest and it took about 30 minutes.

I think it's probably because that sub is not moving enough to allow it to cool.. Id turn the gain up a bit so it moves more for cooling reasons.. That's why it's hard on subs to be underpowered..

were the headrest you did motorized like mine ? and i seen some lil white plastic looking levers on the side of each headrest support bar by the motor side , i just couldnt figure out how to push them and pull on the headrest at the same time...lol

unless the ones i was playing with are the wrong ones that unlock the headrest bars..

thanks man

Yes they were motorized. Its a pain in the ass let me tell you. You just have to kinda feel around back there and towards the base you should feel it. Push the lever and then the bars should be able to be pushed out from their brackets and slid thru the holes.
