quoted from someone in the deadening industry "CLD Tiles aren't really appropriate for SPL installations. This is true for every similar product on the market. They control vibrations in the sheet metal. That's a useful function to control the distortion resonance introduces and to reduce noise levels, but they do it by converting vibration - which can become sound, into heat - which can't. The better approach for maximizing SPL is to mechanically brace the sheet metal to prevent energy loss due to sheet metal deformation. Vibration dampers are really a Bandaid in this application. We've all heard reports of someone adding vibration damper and gaining a few dB and others doing exactly the same thing and losing a few. That's why. The outcome is completely unpredictable. Brace the sheet metal with something that doesn't have the offsetting conversion of energy and you are guaranteed movement in the right direction."

but if you want something that'll do the job without having to cover 100% of the panel look into SDS. 25% coverage with it beats 100% coverage of many other products.

You expect the general public to read and understand? You know that aint going to happen. But I know exactly where you got that and he actually know shit about deadening not like some other companies that went to him to get answers for their customers lol.

I appreciate the input as well as from everyone else. New to the whole audio scene, just learning well... im not into the whole competition type thing more SQ then anything 2 sa 10s running 1500 rms. but my trunk rattles pretty bad. Would deadening help with that atleast have a 2 layers on the top of my trunk and behind my license plate inside the trunk.
