Default xtant or zapco

I have tried a xtant x603 and i loved the noisegate and that it removed all hissing and engine noise problems i had. i just bought a zapco 360.4 with the symbilink and im having very slight engine noise and the hiss from my pioneer deck is still their :-( im looking at a xtant 604x for my mids and highs but should i stay with the zapco 360.4 or is the xtant better?

i have the zapco reference 360.4. Symbilink is unique but I haven't experienced problems. I say Zapco

An amp's purpose in this world is to amplify. That's it. They take the signal given and amplify it. And Zapco is among a very select few that do that about as well as it can be done.

If you're having noise issues, you should be upgrading or troubleshooting the transport. It's not the Zap's fault.

i blame my pioneer deck for the hissing sound in my system and im not 100% sure on what to blame for the engine noise. my rca's were ran on the opposite side of my power cable and not close to any other positive wires that i knew of. when i had that zapco with the symbilink wires/boxes it did sound great but the hiss and engine noise was not gone like i thought it would be but when i used my neighbors xtant x603 i had ZERO noise... just music i understand what you mean about amps are just to amplify but i like the features the xtant has more. im sure you know how nice the 604x amp is. i have the pioneer fh-p8000bt stereo and i just read up about the pico fuses on pioneer stereos so i opened mine up to check it and its fine. i asked my original question because i wanted to know if i just had a defective zapco amp. my amp should arrive tomorrow and if i have any problems with that......idk what ill do

I hear you. And I wasn't busting your balls, but as far as a Zap vs. Xtant argument goes... I choose Zapco every time. But that's just a personal preference (which is really what 99% of gear choices boil down to). If you like the Xtant, then rock it and more power to you.

Let us know how it works out. And PM me if you want to sell that 360.4
