Default volt meter help

dont know if this is the right spot but im going to try anways. I in wrong spot let me know.

Any ways i just got a cheep voltmeter from e-bay for a buck and it came with four wires. (red,black,blue and yellow) red-power black ground blue remote yellow key power. right i would think but whem i hooked it up and it sounds like im fring somthing lol. still works so where do the wires go

There is no diagram to this meter?
Seems shady..

Can you post link to where you bought it so I can possibly find out for you.

I know 2 of the 4 wires would be to power the meter, power\ground.

The other 2 wires should be SENSING power\ground.
I do not believe any of those wires would be remote turn on.


Usually when you have 4 wires, the 2 wires used to power the meter require a DIFFERENT input voltage than what it's designed to measure.

Example-

a voltmeter may say measures 10-50vDC, but to power it on it needs 5vDC.

Exactly what I was talking about.

Do NOT use on a 12v source or you risk starting a fire.

and if im not around then im out bout 800 just for a audio system lol. so if im going to hook to an amp i would do red to the power black to ground where would the ellow and blue go

yes i have read what they said but i hate wires like this. and how is it confussing im asking how to hook the metter to the car. If it can not be done let me know if it can. Please let me know how and where to put the wires. sry if i seem confussing at time
