Default Mounting Amp on box... safe?

Hey all!

This year its going to be very tight for space... I was wondering if its safe to mount my amp on my sub box? The wood I'll be using is 3/4" Birch (hopefully 9+ plies) resined on the inside, 45's & bracing.

Is there anything I can put between the amp & box to help if there is vibrations? Any recommendations?

Cheers!

its not the safest but it can be done.... i would use rubber spaces between the box and amp..

I've done it with 0 negative side effects I always mount the amp to a piece of scrap wood, put a layer of deadener on the other side of that board anda piece of deadener on the box where it'll be mounted. I'm pretty sure most those steps aren't needed but make me feel better.

I'd never mount an amp directly onto the box itself...I do like this guy. Mount the amp on a piece of 1/2" or 3/4" mdf then mount that to the box with deadener on the side of the wood that's hitting the box

so it...box-deadener-wood-amp

I have a pair of amps on my box. I doubled up the wood where the amps are mounted.

There was nowhere else to mount them... so far so good. Rubber bushings will help kill some vibration as well

ahh makes sense... Fingers crossed that all this will fit!! lol

I was thinking of putting dynamat on the amp itself but I'm thinking that might just heaksoak the amp which isnt a great idea... I think I'll give that a try..

wood - deadener - wood - amp
