Exclamation rf power 800a4 question

i just recently got a trade for a rockford fosgate power 800a4 4 channel amp, its in great shape, but i went to test it for power up and a quick run, but im having a problem, it has two 8 gauge powers and two 8 gauge ground terminals, i am only using one power and one ground...what i have to power it is a pc power supply, it was just testing a jl 300/4 so its not that, after i connected the power and ground, i used a dmm to test voltage, i was at 12volts....is that to low for this amp? anyways it reads normal, but after i power the supply off and connect the remote wire, it wont even turn the fan on the power supply and the volts are at 0...is there a short some where? i connect it to my jl and it works fine!! please help me!!!

Only thing you can do is wire it up properly, using both power and grounds and see if it fictions the way it should. If not, then you have a bad amp.

Its bad. I test on a pyramid 52 amp power supply... I had a few amps that drop voltage 2 0 and pull have no amp draw

Changes are if u hook it up in a car it will smoke! Just had a diamond audio d7 6ch do this so deccided to try in car hopeing it just didnt like the power supply and it errupted.... lol nothing like smoking a 450 dollar ebay amp

I figured they were all one piece, but why does the remote make it short my amp out?? It reads 12v till I connect the remote wire..
