thats probably on the upper limit. but then again im VERY conservative with voltage. 12's scare me.lol. id say 5k is doable pretty good with 3. as long as you charge the batteries every now and then

That's a lot of power.... do a few runs of 0 gauge and i'd get like 4 of the 9a31's, can't have to much overkill on electrical. If your on a budget, do 2-3 now and turn the gain down if your voltage drops, add batteries when you get more money. Just my .02

i have an ap30001d on the way with a hdc318, but i plan on getting another audiopipe and doing 2 hdc315s instead of one 18. the untimate goal is 4 total runs of 0 gauge

i've ran my SD8000.1 off a stock battery lol, and one run of 4/0 gauge to the back on music and been fine in spurts. 300amp alt though. lots of voltage drop, but the amp is fine down to 9v and produces power that low. if you play your music full tilt for minutes at a time then you probably need 2 or 3 batteries, if running tones 4 is probably fine.

everyone on here is going to disagree with me though most likely. lots of electrical overkill on this forum, which is a good thing lol, but you can skimp by with less. especially if not metering, the difference between 5k and 6k isn't too noticeable so just turn the gain down slightly

my only suggestion is if there is doubt, dont try it. and if you do, if there is a lot of voltage drop, stop trying it.lol

hell yeah. alternators charge the batteries but not like a nice slow trickle charge can. i charge my AGM's once a week if i can. never hurts to take care of them a little more then need be. just makes them last longer and perform better
