Default SO sick and tired!

I'm gonna rant for about 2 minutes just because theres an issue plaguing me and probably many of you. What is it with kids these days, and when I say kids I mean 15-19 years old, who all think that car audio is dirt cheap and that they shouldn't have to pay for it. If they can't buy it, they steal it. If they find what they want they lowball as much as possible. I've literally got in day long arguments on text messages with kids that think that my posting on craigslist for an amp or sub or what have you that already has a nearly 50 percent discount from new price is far out of line. I explain "this sh*t doesn't come cheap" When I pay $400 for a sub, and then post it on craigslist for 250 because it's used and some little dumbas* punk comes on and offers me $75 for it and argues with me as to why he thinks that his offer is fair I want to find him and ruin his face. It's extremely frustrating.

Just yesterday I was asked to find a "great quality headunit with a sh*t ton of settings" I asked "what's your budget" To which he replied "$100" All I have to say is good luck with all that. Maybe if it's 10 years old you might get lucky and find an Eclipse, alpine, or old Sony that will fit your need for $100 but I still highly doubt it. The same kid tried to talk me down from my already low price of my 2 15's (AQ HDC3 15's both in great shape at the time) from $500 for the pair to $400 for the pair with a free enclosure. I told him I didn't have to sell them but he was persistant on how they weren't worth any more than that. I told him hit up CACO and tell me they aren't you cheap bastar* you won't find any cheaper than 500 for the pair and most not in as good of shape.

What do you guys think? Any similar experiences and tell me it doesn't make you wanna kick a kitten.

I'm straight up with people..

If i'm selling something and someone contacts me about it and it appears they are not well educated, then I refuse to sell them any regardless of what they'll pay me for it.

IF they want to act stupid, they aren't getting quality products.

When i was selling some of my amps in the past, I had 2 people do that to me acting like they were all gangsta on the phone.. gangsta or not, no money.. no gangsta.. no life...

I know exactly what your saying. It is frustrating to no end. But you can say that about all kids. I'm 17 and have worked for everything I own, being my warhorse, batts, component sets, and the 15's I built..

yea ive noticed c.l. is like a flea market if you post something for sale people think its their right to low ball just like you said .

i will not buy nor sell on c.l. for that reason ive had better luck on here the only thingh is you have to ship but honestly i still get low balled but its from an educated car audio member so its not that bad.

really if you know how to properly pack an item you can ship your average stuff . i was even was able to get about 35-40 shipping for a 12 " kicker solo x 12 that i made a semi birch box to protect from shipping weighed about 63 lbs .

my advise to you stay away from c.l just for the fact yiou may have some shady people to deal in person where on a forum most of the people are good and really as long as you describe the item correct and use paypal its fool proof.

Yeea i hate it too.. but sometimes you gotta try for those crazy deals.. Ive gotten bada$s HU's for $25, I got 4 12" HX2's for $100.. u dont know unless u try.

but i dont cut anyone deals, not even friends, I sell chit on CL, to friends, for the same price i would sell em on here. And if they really get under my skin i can verbally destroy someone. If they r lowballing you like that, then they dont know there shit. so go off on a rant, using tech words, make em feel like an idiot

Yeah I usually mind fu** them to make them leave me alone. It's just extremely irritating. Craigslist is a decent place to find cheap stuff for sure but they forget that if it weren't for me they probably wouldn't have known anything about the equipment I'm selling. I grew up in a different lifestyle I guess you could say. If you want something you work for it. And when I was buying car audio when I was there age it was damn close to a dollar a watt. Now they see a 400 dollar sub and they think that people are desperate because theyre selling on craigslist. It's just another market imo. It's priced the same as I would sell it for on here. It's just when I don't want to take the time to take pics and whatnot I just throw it up on CL. It's not only that they low ball it's that they don't take a polite no as an answer. So then they want to argue and piss me off. WORK FOR YOUR SH*T! that's what I want to get across to the 80 percent of them that don't understand. A majority of us worked for the things we have and have more invested in our equipment than equity in anything else. Just gotta cross that barrier where they finally get it.
