Default another box question

I have a aq hdc3 15 with copper coils d2 newer style basket its going in my dodge truck in the back seats. I will be running hifonics 2608d at 1 ohm. I know that this amp doesnt do rated power but I know that it should be pushing this sub preaty darn good. On to the question wanted it tune to 35hz. Whats the best placement for the sub and the box for a truck and also since i am putting more than rated power. so I want control from the sub so what size box should i be making. thanks.

As for the Hifonics not doing rated, I have clamped a few of them including the 2608 and they always did right at rated.

I havent built an extended cab, but alot of them I see is sub forward and port up. 4 cubes net and 64 sq inches of port is recommended. U can stretch it to 4.5 cubes net and 72 sq inches per cube with no issues. u planning a slot port or aeros?

Should sound good man. I wouldnt go any bigger on the box or smaller on the port. 12.5 sq inches PER CUBE is on the smallish side but its an aero so it will be more efficient than a slot.

LOL.. yeah just a little That was actually my burp box. It was designed to use with the HDC3 and peak out at 2000 watts at around 52-53 hz. That sub you saw was a prototype and that particular spider/surround wasnt nearly as effiecient as the production model.

Now that 12 inch port is PERFECT for a 6.5 cube net 18 box, and we will be tuning one in tomorrow with that setup. Hopefully Ill get some vids.

Pie (3.14) x radius^2

So for the 8 inch aero, its: 3.14 x 4 x 4 = 50.24 sq inches

50 sq inches / 4 cubes = 12.5 sq inches per cube.

Sorry I mistyped on that original post about port ratio.
