Default Do not use infinite baffle?

I was wondering why a sub maker would say not to use an infinite baffle?
As far as like walling a single 15' and just using the trunk as the box

On the fosgate site box advisor it says this sub is NOT made to be used with infinite baffle

I never really thought about doing it UNTIL I read that
Now I kinda want to.. Lol

Generally if you have sub with a softer suspension..If you tried to run it infinite baffle you would bottom it out or not have any cone control..Kind of like running it Free-Air..

You might be ok to run it Infinite Baffle if your 15 had a really hard suspension ..Something like 3 hard Spiders or more..

I'm sure somebody with more knowledge about Subs will chime in..lol

I remember having two old 12" pioneer free-air(infinite baffle) subs in a box about the size of a large fridge in my parents' house and it went so low I felt like I was melting.

Infinite-baffle subs have a progressive suspension so has better cone control since there's no "air spring" behind it to slow it down... medium to stiff spider and thick rubber surround usually does the trick.
