Much cheaper too. I use birch though, it's practically plywood - just more layers. (I believe)

It's around $34 here. And birch looks nicer. But I do have one piece of my box build from plywood because I messed up on a cut lol

i think birch has a few grade of plywood. i mo less knots the better quality. i perfer birch myself, and marine ply. 1inch if u cn find it. on big builds requiring 10+sheets. i would rather jus just buy both. but not reg mdf. id get birch and half mdf light.

What kind of plywood is this exactly?

I'm trying to look it up on my local supply store. Trying to figure exactly what I should search. I don't really care for MDF but never knew exactly what else I could use.

Thanks!

jus baltic birch, or go to the lumber yard and ask for marine ply. they come in 1 inch think also. super strong and lighter than mdf. if you hve to use mdf, jus go get the mdf light at the lumber yard. home depo or lowes dont carry it. or find some 15-16ply 1 inch thick birch. look for the qualit of the wood itself. for smaller build i jus recommend mdf light. sve the weight. around the same price as regular mdf, jus lighter, not stronger though

Now he should cut across the grain and try the same thing. Plywood is perfectly fine to build boxes with AS LONG AS IT IS OF HIGH QUALITY AND USED CORRECTLY.
