Default Aluminum vs copper coils

Someone wants to sell me a pair of SA 12's with aluminum coils. Ive read that the aluminum coils take heat better than the coppers. Other than that is there any major differences? How much better are aluminum coils than copper, do the aluminum get much louder? Are there any cons for aluminum coils?

from what i was told from AQ is that the aluminum coils are more used for comp as the coppers are for daily use because of like you said the heat transfer. as for better or not for daily use i dont know. i didnt get to much into it with him but im sure the coppers are more for daily use because of those being cheaper. again i really dont know though.

Copper is better with heat handling, but aluminum will disipate it quicker. So if you are competing, aluminum will get hot quickly however it will also cool down faster after use. Copper takes longer to shed heat, but I believe it is supposed to also take longer to heat up then aluminum.

From what I have heard aluminum is lighter and will raise the FS.

Copper has a higher heat transfer level. It heats up quicker, gets hotter, and stays hot longer then aluminiun. Aluminum coils take longer to heat up and disipate tye hear faster which is why they are better suited for competition set ups with large amounts of power. Copper coils are perfectly fine for daily driver set ups. Hopefully this helps answer your question

Doesn't the copper vs aluminum in the same sub change the TSP's greatly? Specifically the Fs? As in, copper has a much lower Fs than the same coil in aluminum? I thought that was the big deal for daily vs comp use.
