Default Low power, Efficient subs? E-8s?

So I have gone through a few setups, different subs, and I have not had... the best of luck. I'm currently on two Skar vvx 12"s, and they are not what i had expected. I bought them somewhat hastily, and realized afterwards that the RMS is way underrated. They sound very sloppy half the time. I think part of it is the cold winter weather and the rubber surrounds.

ANYWAY, I would like to try something that i can vastly overpower. How are the ratings on E8s? I know a lot of sundown equipment can take a beating, but how would 4 e8 d2's be one a SAZ 2K?

If not them, what would be some efficient, low rms subs?

i had 2 e8v2's that i never used. sold them to a buddy who installed them in a mk5 GTI on 1k with .8 per sub prefab box and they sounded good. built him a box with .5 per tuned to 32 hz and damn they sound great. but IMO go the sa8 route and up the powwa

Idmax if price isn't a problem.....But depends on what "low power" is to you. Prob not as high as you want so i'd suggest idq.

I mean low as in low as possible. I can't really support this 2k which is why its only a little over half gain. Im not dumping the money into upping electrical. I am simply not that dedicated. The thought of just selling it all has even crossed my mind.

i would sugest the sundown saz 1500 v.2 for them if your going to route of the e8 v.2s. i've ran that set-up and the 2k over powers them honestly here 2 diffrent boxes i tryed 1st on i burped a 143 and did 141 on 30 seconds of music average. Sundown Audio Woofer Porn. - YouTube
2nd box i tryed was about the same but had a little more low end
Demo of the new box / 4 Sundown E8 V.2s / Sundown SAZ - 2000D Kinetik Batterys - YouTube

that might be all the amp needs to be set properly. it might actually be too much and your clipping...

So let me get this straight...you want to buy subwoofer(s) that have a power rating significantly less than you have available and over power them just for the sake of over powering them? I don't get it.

That being said, I'm positive that the only reason your current subs would sound "sloppy" is the install, particularly the enclosure. For a single SAZ 2k you should be looking at the SA-8s. As far as low power, efficient subs...not going to happen unless you have a ton of room(think 15s/18s/horns etc) or only want mid bass. I suggest you look up Hoffman's Iron law.

If that's the case something like the SAZ-2k wouldn't make any sense.
