Default Must be the car..electrical...

So I have the DC power 270XP, a XS power 3400 and a Yellowtop in the back. All KnuKonceptz 1/0 Kollussus (w/e) and superior ground everywhere. Still dimming at the lights. I called DC and they said add another battery, which I did (the yellowtop) and it still occurs. My only conclusion is it must be the cars computer and/or since there is no instantaneous voltage anywhere, a battery cannot discharge fast enough for the amplifiers. I do not get any voltage drop, I sit at around 14.3 to 14.9...even when at full tilt. I'm only posting this to see if anyone has any input as to why, or has had same issue and resolved it. The dimming is ok, since I know that my voltage stays regular, I JUST HATE DIMMING! oh well, maybe you guys have some insight.

take out Yellow top and try a Batcap.. they discharge quicker.. Yellow tops arent that great anymore.. they were better quality when they first came out.. and werent even that great back then for CA

and take into consideration that some small lights (like a dome light) operated off of VERY little power, so when that power is reduced by when the bass hits (even by a little) it can make a visual differance

Dont flame me guys but this is actually a situation where a capacitor might do some good. It sounds to me like your regulator can't keep up with quick changes in current your amplifier is demanding. So I'd try picking up a cheap 10-20 farad cap and see if that helps. Sometimes you can find the old 50 and 100 farad Rockford ones on eBay pretty cheap. Hope that helps!

It's funny you mention that, I've had someone else tell me the same thing about a capacitor.

i thought about this also.. this is the "real reason" for a cap.. when ur electrical is already up to par but cant unload fast enough.. BUT i didnt dare say it.. thats why i said BatCap, lol

I think of it this way. Bulbs are probably one of the most sensitive things out there affected by voltage. Even if the drop doesnt read much on the meter. The spike could be so quick that it has time to affect the lights but its too quick for the meter to read. Well thats how i make sense of it to myself fyi i have the same issue. I just let it go i guess.
