Default A little battery problem...need some help O.o

So about once a week I put my batteries on a slow 6 amp charge since I beat on the system pretty heavily. Last night I put it on the charger and this morning I noticed that I was charging quite high compared to normal...my voltage was at 14.9 instead of the normal 14.6-8 I usually get after a charge.

All was well on my way to work but after I started driving to get some lunch (system low and bass knob all the way down) I started smelling a nasty fart smell lol...don't know how else to explain it. Not like sulfer where it smells like rotten eggs but nasty nonetheless! I get to where I'm going for lunch and lift my seat out of the way and I can hear one of the batts (located under my sub box so I can't get to them by myself) sounded like it was letting out air...plus the smell was stronger.

I know I need to get it replaced but am I in any danger until I can get it out? Like anything leaking on the floor that I won't be able to see until I can remove my box again?

If its off gassing then it was over charged somehow. But with AGM there isn't the fluid like with flooded batteries. So you should be fine as far as that goes.

How many batteries do you have? 6A is not a lot of current to fully charge more the 1-2 batteries over night. And you really should be using 12-15A for multiple batteries.
When you charge do you hook the clamps directly to one battery, or do you spread them out?

I think it's probably because that sub is not moving enough to allow it to cool.. Id turn the gain up a bit so it moves more for cooling reasons.. That's why it's hard on subs to be underpowered..

Well I have 3 group 31 dekas in the back and one group 34 up front...again another Deka. I didn't think 6 amps was a lot to charge that many batteries with which is what confused me as well...I've tried to peek under the box and can't see anything alarming but holy *&^% does it stink lol! I know 2 of the batteries are still under warranty so if it happens to be one of those I'll just replace it but I was just more worried about if there would be anything harmful in the mean time...Thanks for the quick response BTW!!!!

Oh, and all batteries are connected and charger connected to only one. I put the charger on the one under the hood which trickles back to the ones inside the truck...one under the hood is fine as far as I can tell but one of them in the back must be gassing.

Well, I went home despite my work lol...I removed the battery in question. Of course it's one of the ones that's not under warranty...it has a resting voltage of 10.6 right now and it pretty warm to the touch. Almost sounds like it's boiling inside. I'm guessing there isn't anything else I can do for this battery at this point?

So I let the battery sit in the garage from when I took it out until now and went to feel it. It's still barely warm but it is warmer than it should be...huge difference from earlier though! I've been trying to find some info on reviving AGM's and did find a few things that make me think I can bring it back...mainly because the resting voltage isn't below 10.5v. But I think at this point I'm leaning toward a bad cell which is causing it to act like a 10v battery instead of a 12v. Anyone think I'm on the right track with those thoughts?

K, so just to update anyone who may have cared lol...I'm about 99.9% sure it has a bad cell in it. I connected it to a shuriken battery that rested at 12.7 in parallel and charged it up over night by connecting charger to the shuriken. When I checked it this morning the resting voltage was a split between the two...11.4v. I disconnected the Deka and tested it's voltage alone and of course...10.6 is where it sat while the shuriken charged back up to 12.7 without issue. Guess I'll be buying a new group 31! The Deka was overcharged because of the bad cell so it was a 10v battery at that point, hence the gassing and internal boiling. Soooo, audioarsonal was right, it was overcharged!
