I just bought an 18" Crossfire XS V.2 that I'm building a box for that will be Slot Vented & tuned to 30hz with 60sq in of port & 12sq in port/per ft^3. The total air volume gross is 6.51ft^3, and after all displacements subtracted, it's 5.05ft^3 net.
I wanted to know what you thought about the final net Air Vol, tuning frequency , the sq in of port per foot,and total sq in of port. This sub would be ran off a DD M3a @1ohm with stout electrical. I can't go any bigger that 6.51ft^3 gross due to size limitations.
Now here's the the tough decision I just bought a 15" DC XL m2 that has a sexy Carbon/Kevlar dust cap like the Z's. Its 2200wrms compared to the Crossfire XS V.2's 2000wrms. I know both can take a lot more power but I don't know or have heard much about the XL's with the new m2 motor . If this sub is ran off a DD M3a @1ohm, how many watts do you think I can send to it and still be clean power and how much clean can the XL take.
I'm needing to decide what route/what sub box should I build first. So I figured I'd ask you guys to see what sub and amp would be the most appealing. 18" Crossfire XS V.2 in 6.5ft^3 box slot tuned to 30hz on a DD M3a @1ohm or a 15" DC XL m2 in 3.5-4.0ft^3 box slot tuned between 33hz-35hz.
Biggest problem is I need some sort of an approach to tune low and big 4ft^3 @32hz or DC's recommendations of 3.5ft^3 @35hz . But with either one I would need to know how many sq in of port and sq in port per foot for both sizes.
Whichever box and sub you choose, I'll slap that bad boy in first
