Default Help me get loud?

So heres my current setup

3 SA 8s on a SAZ 3k wired to .67. Subs back, port back, slot port 2.25" x 11.25". Box is tuned to 33hz.

It did a 138.5 on the meter 41 hz, which is my peak. 2 months ago when I did this build it was loud at first, now Ive gotten used to it and want way louder.

Heres the box dimensions I have to work with. I will double check these today. These ARE INSIDE THE MDF dimensions.. meaning I have accounted for material thickness with these specs. I will double check these measurements tonight though in my trunk. This also will leave about 4-5" of room between the trunk and the left side of the box for a side firing port. The 12.5" depth does NOT leave room for rear firing subs as I am considering doing sub up port side.

This is roughly 4.5cuft.

This my trunk right now.

With this air space, and trunk.. if I want to get as loud as possible off the same power (SAZ 3k) what is my best option?

Several SAs or some bigazz monster of a sub(s)? 2 beastly 12s or a bunch of SA 10s/8s?

Need help here. I want to do a 145+

To me the box seem big for 8s. You could do 3 sa-10s in that size box.

Well I was going to run 6 for max cone area.. something like 300 cubic inches.

But Im not sure which is louder, 6 SA 8s, or say something like.. 2 NS 12" or 2 9512s on the same power. ??

I dont get this either. How could something be louder to your ear, and not louder to a meter?

generally the guideline is double the woofers or double the power for twice the loudness

in order to score good on a meter usually u tune high (around 40-50hz, sometimes higher for highest score)

however the ear perceives lower bass as louder.. I personally like around 28hz

I had good luck with sa-8's in about .4 cu ft net each, with about 12sq in. of port each, tuned to whatever freq you desire. The smaller the enclosure, the more power they will handle.

I replied in another thread. You can do little things, test a lot, change enclosures.. it all comes down to your car. Unfortunately it sounds like you just have a car that the meter doesn't like. There is a reason Blazers and CRX's are common burp machines... they get loud easily (don't hate haters.)
