Default Some MECA rule help please...

So since I won't be able to compete with my truck I've been contemplating doing a couple shows with my car instead and will be staying in the S1 class for this one. I'm confused on the fuse ratings though...I was thinking of using a DC 1.2K but it has onboard fuses. For S1 there can only be one fuse and the rules say if there is no inline fuse then the onboard fuses are used to determine the rating.

The DC 1.2K has 3x40 amp onboard fuses so in theory that amp would put me in S3. I'm wondering if I can either remove 2 of the fuses to maintain a single fuse at say 50 amp for burps or if that amp could keep the onboard fuses and still keep me in S1 (highly doubt it lol)

Thoughts?!?

Not sure on the number of fuses but you can lower the fuses to say 3 15amp fuses and burp it like that

What I did it just bought agu fuses and holders and just cut the power wire to the amp and added them.

From what i understand they dont count the fuses on them as long as you have an inline fuse near you amp or rear battery. I plan on using a mini anl in as1. Why not just use an inline? Just curious.

They don't count the amp fuses as long as you use I online fuse that's within 18 inches of the amp. If you use the amp fuses as stated 3x30 you might be able to use a 6 1/2 inch sub and that's it. So use a inline fuse and save yourself

Awesome info guys...thanks! So I can keep the onboard ones in tact as long as I use an external inline? I have no problem doing this and I really didn't want to use the onboard ones lol...I'm going to be running a single 12 for this setup. Haven't decided yet on if I'm going to run my PSI built 12 with 4" coil or get a new M2 Level 3 or 4 12"

I have 40 amps to play with and I'm sure I can burp the 1.2K with a single 40 AGU. But if I add the 40 amp AGU the onboard ones are basically not counted...is this correct? I need to be sure because I'm about to start purchasing based on this so I want to be 100% sure...

Thanks again for everyone who put their .02 in

Honestly i wouldnt use agu though, ive had bad luck with them. The solder always seems to break. They make fuse holders that can hold anl and mini anl. They have 2 sets of screws on them. Tsunami makes one that im getting. Just a suggestion.
