Default Electrical question

I was planning on putting in my 270a alt in my 92 accord but it just won't work out in my car. I'm going to have to downgrade now and use a smaller alt. I could get a 180 amp alt or a 230. The price difference is Over 200$. I'm leaning more towards the bigger alt just incase for future upgrades etc but would it just be better to buy the 180 and take the extra 200$ and buy another xp3000? I'm not sure how many batteries I can hook up to a single alt. Any input is greatly appreciated!

I don't think your car will use a lot of the current given by even the smaller alt so I'd say you should be good. The more batts the merrier just so long as you have a way to keep 'em charged...which with 180 amp alt you should be ok with as long as you don't run full tilt for extended periods and give the batts a chance to catch back up...

Full tilt for how long? I have a 30 minute highway drives to/from work daily that's not bad right?

It all depends on what power you're going to attempt to run. When it comes down to it it takes a lot of power to make good solid stable power/voltage. It's either get the bigger one and get a few batts and see how it works or get the smaller one and a few more batts. Either way once you realize you don't have the power to make the power youre trying to run you're gonna spend atleast another $200 to get it up to par. So always go more than you need and spend the cash now instead of going cheaper and spend the 200+ to make up for it later.

I plan on running a atleast 6kw. Ddm3a @.5 and 2 1000c4's I'm getting 2 xp3000's soon and might buy a bigger batt for upfront depending on if I get a bigger alt or not. I called excessive amperage and he said I could put in a 250a for like 430 so I'm thinking about going that route. BUT mechman says anything over 220a and I will have alot of belt issues but no other company i've talked to can back this statement.

I'm just gonna go for it and buy a bigger alt now. The only problem is Mechman said anything over 220a and the belt will rip slip and throw and wont be able to handle it? Can anyone confirm a claim like this or have ever even heard something like this? Nate from EA has a 300a in his 92 civic and has no problems and told me ill be fine he's even sending me all the hardware I need to install it. So if I get this 220a claim figured out I'll be buying my next alt.
