Default 6 1/2" or 6X8"

I'm looking into replacing my factory speakers in my truck. I have 6X8" speakers in there now according to crutchfield. I'm looking into opinions on whether I should do 6 1/2" or 6X8" components. Who has experience with the 6X8s??

thanks for your input.

If you were to go with a full component set then I would say go 6.5" but if you are going coaxial I would go with a good set of 6x8 or 5x7 they can both be used interchangably (sp?).

I agree a component set will be much better than either coaxial options.

Though coax's can get pretty darn loud and don't sound bad most of the time, the imaging can be better, hence components>coaxials.

For that budget go with a good set of coaxials.

Lemme also say that I have a RF T1 12" awaiting for me to put in. I'll be looking for an amp for it later. I want something that wont have any problems keeping up with it.
