I'm proud to say that DSS is (IMO) leading the charge in the direction I'd like to see subwoofers go- smaller, lighter, better. Sundown is obviously working on that too. We need to stop adding weight and start adding innovation.

I'm also proud to say that our friend Kevin Ross is leading the charge (and has been for a while now) for innovation in the power solutions department. Every single person/company making one red cent on lithium should pay him a royalty for having the vision and foresight to make the leap. And then dropping NiMH on us. Neither is "new", but it's new for car audio. I, for one, am glad he's around. And he's not done either.

Amps... I think this might be where there is the most room to improve. We have huge power for pennies on the dollar. But I think we can do better. Amps will get smaller, more efficient and hopefully we will start to see a migration from "over there" to "over here".

Technology is advancing at break neck speeds and eventually it will trickle down. Neo, lithium, gallium nitride... we have these materials already in the market, but they will get utilized more and prices will come down as we "figure them out" in the next 5 years.

In 10 years? Man... I'm excited to see what's coming. Graphene all the things!!!

I've had my hands on a few of their amps. They're quality. I've heard the subs. They're loud. They're doing their thing and I believe they're here to stay.

I know there are some huge builds coming from them. They ain't scared. That's for sure.

Well said TFade...could not have stated anything better.

I'd like to add that I'm starting to see a more of a trend on stacked/layered custom made sub enclosures. Instead of the usual box building method, each piece is CNC machined, more than likely on a router, to a fitment/form inside a vehicle.

And they're getting cheaper and cheaper. I just saw a video of an open source CNC that you can buy/build for ~ $350. And it's a stand up, panel saw orientation.

My buddy down the street has a CNC. It's some handy shit.

I think 3D printing is also going to start changing the game. Printers will get cheaper and print beds will get larger. Filament materials will evolve. I actually just saw a legit aluminum filament. That's sick. We will start to figure out how to utilize these tools.

Beast of an amp for the money. The HDC4 is a decent sub. You can probably do better depending on your goals, but it's always nice to rep one company and have matching gear.

Also... I hope you meant multiples of the HDC4. Unless you plan on running that 7k at like 4 ohms or something.
