Default Component system help

ok so today i tuned my skar 1500 with a dd1 sounds amazing but now whats happening is it seems my component speakers are distoring like there being pushed to far i increased my head unit volume from 38 and now its 48 and then it clips so im wondering what would keep these speakers from soundsing like there being pushed to much the thing is that there running of my head unit i dont have an amp for my component speakers could that be the problem that im pushing them past what the head unit can push them do i need an aftermarket amp for them also my buddy was telling me take them 6x8 and 6x9 out and put some 6.5s in my lincoln town car that round speakers are better for sound another prooblem that seems were running into is the components are too bassy so what im asking is do i need an aftermarket amp to power these to keep them from being to bassy and give me crisp clear sound ? are round components better then oval component speakers oh and i was pioneer component speakers in there now thanks there coaxial speakers

Could be clipping them or you might not have the highpass crossover set high enough so they would be exceeding their xmax at lower frequencies. Or they don't have a lot of xmax to begin with.

Sound is not oval or round so it does not make a difference.

An aftermarket amp has a lot of benefits. If your HU is clipping then it would help with the problem too.

What speakers are you using?

You do realize you can find the head unit's limit by using the DD-1...right?

You guys should have did it with BOTH tones, and depending on the music you listen to (rap, bass boosted) you would have needed to use either the 40hz -5 or -10 db tracks and the 1kh -15 db track to find where the h/u clips. There should be 2 different points where the h/u clips, and you would use the lesser of the 2.

The RCA's should have been connected from the h/u to the DD-1, OR through the sub amp (for the 40hz tone only) with the amp gain all the way down turning up the h/u volume until the clip indicator light illuminates.

Frank you should amp them anyways, you will be able to fine tune them and make them sound better then you will be able to do with the HU.

Pro audio will be much louder but you have to run active crossover points. Make sure you can do that with your head unit (or maybe the amp can if the points go high and low enough)
