Question 6th Order Compound Loaded Isobaric Bandpass

Was scanning youtube and came across this design. Even though some may hate just posting for the visual of what we are talking about:

6th Order Compound Loaded Isobaric Bandpass Box - 2 12" Woofers - YouTube

Has anyone tried a similar box out in their ride?

How would a box like this work for posting numbers?

Just curios what everyone thinks...

Let me know bassheads

It's just a parallel 6th order, and just by looking at it probably not a very good one. Numbers will be identical to a single driver setup, but because it's an isovent design you can reduce chamber volume.

A quick question for those who have used those subs: is that mechanical noise (when the side baffle was off) coming from the subs? That's horrible if it is.

SM said it was a huge fail. I'd agree with that as parallel tuned 6ths usually blow. Series tuned 6th are where it at.

I've only seen one good parallel tuned 6th order and that was in team livewire's old caravan.

Every other 6th order I've seen has been a series tuned.

So no added efficiency from having the woofers push/pull each other in this type of setup?

No.
ipirates was a series tuned last I remember.

A parallel tuned 6th order would have two separate ports firing into the cabin.

Unless I'm mistaken on his build, he had two ported chambers (one on each side), subs in a clamshell, all of which fired out of one center port.

EDIT: Yep, I was right.

That would be a series tuned 6th order.
