Default all alpine 9886/7 users

hey guys, im looking into buying either a alpine 9886 or 9887 for my system. I was wondering if there was a ipod option on there where you could control the ipod manually instead of using the radio. Kind of like most kenwoods and pioneers where it uses the usb connection to stream audio from the ipod. I know they sell a 3.5mm jack cable that i can use, but sound quality wont be the same and the ipod wont be charging.

Once you connect the wire, it automatically syncs. Why do you want to have to use the control on the iPod?

The only way to make it easier to scroll through a large volume of music is to make a number of playlists by genre, alphabetical, etc. I was able to break down 1,000 songs into 5 playlists, each contained 20 albums. Much easier to scroll through. Single Din's is just not going to be real easy to browse large amounts of media.

Bro. I have like 6,000 songs. I have mad playlists. I made a playlist of all my favorite artists (atleast 100 songs). Then different genres. Then I have like a demo play list.

Yup playlists will probably be the easiest way to sort things out. I had to do this with all 28zips from decaf made a playlist for each zip then made a playlist for all my demo songs that are decaf. Way easier then scrolling through 1ks of songs.
