Default Multiple small batteries vs. Large batteries

I've been debating this for a lil while and want to ask pros and cons of running multiple smaller batts over single larger ones. In my case I can either fit 3 XS XP3000 or 9 XS XP950's. Prices are pretty close as well as AH. I want to feed a 5-6k amp

When comparing a multitude of smaller batteries to larger batteries and the point of being equal is price or especially weight, these are the typical differences-

Not every time but if there a difference, the aH and reserve capacity of a small quantity of large batteries will usually be greater than a lot of smaller batteries. However, the capacity difference may not be that crucial of a difference even by up to 25%.
By me saying this, i would also say that CCA and CA would also be greater from a small quantity of larger batteries because of the duration.

However, when it comes to 5sec discharge, it's very possible that a bank of smaller batts would excel in less voltage drop over a smaller large case battery bank.

I can practically guarantee with certainty (minus batcap 8400 \ 8400extreme) that when comparing like battery lines in terms of weight capacity, that the smaller bank will have incredible amount of discharge capability.

Example-

Odyssey PC1200 vs PC2150

PC1200 has 1200A for 5sec, 42aH, 38lbs $222
PC2150 has 2150A for 5sec, 100aH, 78lbs $377

10 PC1200s = $2220, 12000A for 5 sec, 420aH, 380lbs
6 PC2150s- $2262, 12900A for 5 sec, 600aH, 468lbs

In this example, same price, 5sec discharge equal, aH big difference and 90lb weight difference.

So a bigger bank of smaller batts would be better for burping. So a large bank would be better for daily?

If we are to compare the most absolute best scenario, then yes, you would probably be right.

This is also probably why the XP series exists too.

The XP line doesn't have as high a quick discharge capability as the D series does but can hold up to longevity better.

In terms of measurable difference though.. that I couldn't answer.

Measurable difference is key though to everything.

It may only differ by as little as 0.3v initial voltage drop.. I do not know.

Something I do know is adhere to manufacturer's recommendations regardless of quantity and as long as properly followed, you will not be disappointed.

another thing is you might see better voltage just because of more terminals and less resistance. I know the difference would be minimal but it could be a .1db since you have more terminals vs battery power with more smaller batteries opposed to less bigger batteries.

Although another thing to consider is more batteries the higher chance of some failing from "natural" reasons. Just because you are running more batteries. Again.. not that important but something to think about.

For daily, the stress of determining the best brand, product line, etc is less hectic because
Music is dynamic. However, I would still stick to trusted car audio specific agm batteries.
The goal for daily batteries mainly comes down to price, but if you ever want to compete, i'd stick with proven performance brands. Also, it's typical that higher priced agm batteries have a much longer cycle life!

Remember that.
