Default Opinions on this alternator - pics inside

I am looking into replacing my stock alternator in my Chevy K2500. I have this 200 amp Stinger alternator that I picked up off Craigslist a while back. Has anybody used one of these? I am trying to decide if I should use this or buy a bigger one. Currently my amps are Memphis MC1.1500 and MC4.125, Red Top starting batt and Yellow Top aux batt w/ Big 3 done

i would throw it on there before buying another you can always add more batts later also worst comes to worst just go to a bigger one if you have a major volt drop

The pulley on the stinger alt is smaller than my stock pulley. Should I swap pulleys or get a new belt?

I'd run it with the stock pulley put on it. See what happens.

Might have it bench tested at autozone or the such to make sure there is nothing wrong with it first.

You'd want the smaller pulley, so it turns faster so it's able to produce at least a bit of current while the engine is turning only smaller amounts of RPMs...

Just get 'er load tested as is too, with the smaller pulley.

I had the alt tested and it looked good so I put it on this evening with the smaller pulley that came on it. Driving around voltage is between 14.1-14.4. When I turn volume up pretty good voltage is dropping to low 13s and lowest I saw was 12.9 a few times. I was really hoping to see voltage staying close to 14

^^:agreed: Singer alts are supposed to achieve higher amperage at lower rpms then most alts. That's a way to make it generate faster is smaller pulley.

Singer from what I here are great alts. I've talked to mr.singer and he's a really good guy. If you talk to him I sure he'll help you decide whether to go higher or if your good.
