what would be louder? and sound better?

2 audioque hdc3 10's
or
1 audioque hdc3 18?
or
4 mofo 10's

my guess would be 18 is louder but 2 10s better sound.

That's a tough call, but I'm going to go 18". Is there any reason why it's between (2) 10"s and (1) 18"? Don't like 12"s or 15"s?

i dont like 12's they cant hit the lows like 10's
and i have a offer for an 18
or i can get 2 10's for cheaper

Umm, how is that statement not the opposite of the truth? I could've sworn the bigger the sub, the lower you can hit, while the smaller the sub, the more accurate/tight the bass. Not an expert though.

that's sort of the general consensus, but the actual reason for that is that as woofer size increses, the fs drops.
Also, a properly designed enclosure should be able to do pretty much whatever you want.
One way to think about it, is which would hit low notes better? an 8, or an 18?

So, generalizing that 12's can't hit the lows, and 10's can is pretty much totally inaccurate. I suspect that you think this because you've had the wrong subs in the wrong box.
