Default Wiring up a 2 wire volt meter from china

So I bought the 2 wire volt meter from china and was wondering if I could connect the positive to my amps remote wire. I tried the positive to the HU power and amp power but it stays in if I do. With the remote on the amp, the meter will turn on and off with the radio. In just not sure if this will mess anything up and if it is accurate like that. Any thoughts?

well using the positive lead to the radio will NOT be the same as the at the amp
do not use that
just install a simple switch simple as that
regualr remote switch work 100%

You could use a switch or a relay.

A switch leaves you to turn it off every time. A relay will make it turn on and off with the amp and you can meter the power directly at the amp.

So your basic toggle switch they sell at autoparts stores will work then? Cool.

Yup. I wouldn't worry if you leave it on either. The current draw is very low, it would probably take months to drain the battery.

Thanks guys. Byron not sure. It's small and the pos/neg wires hook up to the meter by a little connector thing.
