Default box building debate

ok so i have a monster 15" sub on the way and wanted to do a "trunk wall" setup, however i am new to that type of enclosure. i have experienced just simply facing my subs and port in from the trunk but not sealed off and it wasnt as loud and didnt sound as good. so my question is, are trunk wall type setups with sub/port firing in the car and sealed off are they going to sound good and be loud or am i better off just doing a traditional sub/port firing back

depends on the car and enclosure. when i sealed mine i was .7 louder that it rear firing and it sounded alot cleaner. The port wasnt proper for my car though. I just put in a new box sealed it. just waiting on an amp ive seen a huge gain from just changing ports and leaving it rear firing or forward firing without knowing the car its hard to tell. You could just open the trunk when you have it facing forward and see if you like it. it will give you the same effect as sealing the wall.

I have never had good luck doing more than a good pair of 12's in a trunk for a daily driver.

Sub and port back for a 15 in the trunk will probably rattle a lot more than forward and sealed off.

Depends on the car, but in mine it is louder to the ear and sounds much better firing into the cabin sealed off.

as long as your ready to seal off your trunk and the work that comes with it compared to slapping a box together and throwing it in...
