Default I REALLY need a dual alt bracket for a 4.6L Ford (281)

2003 Ford Explorer Limited 4.6L

Alright, I have 2 alts, a 180 amp and a 300 amp. My 300 amp is doodoo at idle (like 80 or something), tired of dropping every time I let off the gas. Plus, I want to get up in the 4k range on power and don't want to run a shit ton of batteries due to layout reasons either, so I really really want to add a second alt. Of course I have no room for an alt, and I'm not doing an AC delete right now. I just don't know where to turn. I've been to local guys, they won't even begin to think about touching it. I've been looking for 2 years and just can't find anything. Any help at all?

Its very tight under ford hoods. That AC has got to go. I feel its a design flaw and makes fords a nightmare to work on

You can get a smaller pulley on the alt so it spins faster at idle to make more power.

I'm going to begin fabbing one for my 4.0l v6 explorer that adds a large case gm. I'm planning to keep ac. The 4.6 is much tighter though

Could always hit up a local welding shop if you have the alts and know where you want them. One of my buddies is an experienced welder and can do damn near anything with metal. If you find the right guy he can make your dreams come true man just look around. Good luck!

shoulda bought a chevy lol, When i was truck shopping here recently i really liked the f150 fx2's but the dual alt option looked expensive and interesting, went with a silverado 5.3 u can slap a quad alt bracket with no trouble.

But do what loud and proud said any fab shop with a skilled guy can make u something may not be the nicest looking but it will function for sure
