Arrow Help me purchase a setup to pair with my TA5601 Monoblock MTX

Hi guys and girls,

new guy here and just wanted some opinions.

I've currently got an MTX TA5601 monoblock amp powering a single MTX T3510 10" dual voice coil, I think at 4 ohms. I will double check.

It's not hitting the low's like I want, so I was going to add a 12 to the trunk. I wanted to stay MTX just cause, but everyone knows better than I do what sub is better yada yada.

I would like something comparable to the MTX T812-44.

I am wondering if I should just shop around for a good deal on 2 12" subs, or stick with my 10" and add a 12".

If I do that, I will have to get another amp, which in that case, any recommendations on what to run??

Thanks.

Before you opt for another (larger) driver, I'd advise you to look over your current system. W/ the correct enclosure, & a bit of tuning, no one should ever have any trouble "hitting the lows" with a 10" driver.

I'll let other members chime in on this, but post up your complete set up, x-over points, enclosure type/volume, etc.

Btw, I'm running a single 8" driver in a sealed enclosure off 160 RMS & I am pretty satisfied. Same vehicle as well

Welcome.

Ok so I have an MTX TA5601 monoblock wired to a t3510.
I am using an LOC wired to the back of my HU, so playing with those frequencies is foreign to me.

I did my best to stay as conservative as I thought while still getting bass and loudness from the sub.

I had previously tried and apparently with the MTX amp, there is a x10 button. The way it works is the opposite of what one would think, so when I thought I had it turned off, it was actually on, fried the power supply or something. So MTX was gracious enough to allow me to pay to fix it....

So that is why I have stayed conservative with "tuning it".
My regular speakers are not run off an amp, onlymy 1 10" is amplified.

I have a sealed enclosure which if I can remember correctly is .75 cu ft. Nothing inside it for padding...

Would it be worth taking it to a car audio store and having them "tune" it?
Do places do that, or is that one of those no go sort of things since I didn't buy a product from them?

If it is something that is done regularly, around how much would it cost me?

Sorry for all the questions.

My apologies. It's been a while.

Since it is a 300w sub, I assumed it was called the t3510, but it is actually the t7510-44

Here is a link. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-T7510-44.html

I think it may be discontinued?

Is this it OP? http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-T5510-44.html

EDIT: You noted it was a "300rms" driver. The one YOU linked is a 400rms driver

I honestly can't remember if I purchased the 7510 or the 5510... wow I feel dumb.

I live in Pompano Beach Florida and would be grateful if someone could double check my install work and just go over the system with me.

I would of course compensate whomever would tune it. It would be a big help.

I'd much rather support a forum member than go to a shop and just have them do it. I wouldn't even be able to tell if they did it 100%.

It is definitely discontinued since there have been new series releases since then.
