Default Strapping DD M4A's

So I have two M4a's in my trunk on two DD 95z15's. I am wired to .9 ohms for pair and with box rise am seeing a reactive load of about 1.8 ohms @ 39z. Of course there is an impedance curve and at some frequencies I am seeing as low as 1.2 ohms. Currently I have the pair strapped and I ran them in series to start at 1.8 ohms and I am sure I am rising up to about 3.6 ohms as that is about what i have seen with this box (2x-3x rise). Its loud wired that way but of course for competition purposes I want to wire back down to .9 and with rise the amp will see around 1.8 ohms.

DD says don't go below 2 ohms of course...but I need just a little more power.

I would like to hear from guys that have strapped these with a reactive load below 2 ohms on music? I am not trying to get full power out of the pair at this load either...I just want to another 2k or so of clean power. In the MWSPL class I run I just need to play music for 30 secs wired this way.

Let me know your thoughts and experiences with strapping these amps.

I am not too worried about electrical because I only need to do this for 30 seconds and I am not trying to use ALL available power. But I do have 220 amp alt, odyessy pc 1500 up front and two HUGE odyessy pc 1800FTs in the trunk. Currently as is it only drops to the mid 12's on voltage at full tilt on music for 30 sec. So I believe I my electrical will hold up for 30 seconds in the high 11's if I did this..which isn't too bad.

We have the pair of M4A's in our CRX strapped at .67 with no problems on music. Only time we have problems is if we try to burp it. For tones we roll the volume. As far as your electrical, it is going to be quite a bit more current draw than you have now. Of course only way to know is try it.

Does it cut out on burps?

dd never says to go below 1 ohm but their amps are .5 ohm stable no np. if you got the electrical strapping @ 1 0hm is fine. based on your electrical if you are dropping into 11 be very carefull because with that low of voltage before strapping is not something i would gamble with on 2 ddm4a . i have 2 ddm4a im running on a 330 amp alt 2 hc 2400 a another group 31 and a front batt and wired to 1 ohm clean signal the amps are dropping to low 12 but im not even using the full potential because my subs are being over powerd. fyi these amps can pull 700 amps each. and yes mine are on music

What are you guys rising to on the reactive load?

So running 2 you should still be seeing 5 ohms...I'm talking about rising to 1.8 ohms from .9.....at 5 ohms your not even warming those things up.

im certain the rise did change because the gain is barley cracked open on trhe master compaired to the position it was on the single ddm4a. before my starting impedance was 1 ohm and now its .5 ohm per amp right there i cut it in half. 1 ohm rise to 5 was an a single ddm4a. if my theory is correct im @ 2.5 ohm after rise .

You have DD's you will be fine if your install is correct. I havn't really used an amp that likes stupid low impedence loads like DD's do. I was running my z1 at .33 daily dropping that bastard to 10v's and while it did get hot it didn't really struggle at all.

what do you mean? What happens. (I'm in the same boat 2 M4a's strapped @ 2 ohm.)
